Tel Aviv-Jaffa

Though Jerusalem might be Israel's political and spiritual capital, Tel Aviv-Jaffa is without a doubt the economic, cultural and entertainment capital of the Jewish state.

Tel Aviv-Jaffa is a remarkable combination of old and new, east and west.  On the outskirts of the ancient port city of Jaffa, Tel Aviv was founded just over 100 years ago, and the two cities were merged a few decades thereafter.

This growing metropolis offers something for everyone.  Head to Jaffa for great hummus, bargain hunting at the flea market, or for a look at the art galleries in the narrow walkways of the Old City.  In the center of Tel Aviv, spend your time sipping coffee at a cafe or catching a film at the cinematheque.  Then, head to the beach and relax before a night out at Tel Aviv's legendary clubs and bars.
