Coexistence Track Mission Statement

The Tikkun Olam Coexistence Track seeks to build mutual understanding between Jews and Arabs in the diverse communities of Jaffa through volunteer work and education.

The Coexistence Track:

  • Focuses on a local arena of the larger issues facing Jews and Arabs in Israel today.
  • Emphasizes coexistence, not conflict.
  • Is non-politically affiliated, and does not take stands on political issues. The program seeks to provide a variety of perspectives and ideas in order to give participants the tools to shape their own opinions.
  • Seeks to strengthen the bonds between Jews in Israel and Jews in the Diaspora, and explore the idea of "Jewish Peoplehood," as well as the connection of Jews to the land of Israel.
  • Takes inspiration for its activities from the humanistic aspects of the Judaic tradition.

Tikkun Olam in Tel Aviv-Jaffa is supported by the Government of the State of Israel, the Jewish Agency for Israel, and the Municipality of Tel Aviv-Jaffa.
